Literature Text

A fleeting, untamed nymph
Is summer;
Evanescent, simply passing through,
And never here to last.
You tempting and impassioned
Sister of the seasons--
Stirring feeling, budding romance
Which dies, the same as you
At your time's end--
It is astounding how
You never fail to catch me
In the caresses of your setting sun,
The teasing and rebellious whispers
Of your humid breezes.
And when those fickle little charms of yours
Do faint with season's end
And Fall swiftly brushes in,
It is I who's left to weep your passing
As you leave with little warning
And without a single courtesy.
You're left with worries none,
And I with molting summer blooms
And skies of ashen pallor
And more frigid winds
That only whisper mutterings--
All merely echoes of your so rosy self.
Yes, summer is a fleeting,
Untamed nymph,
Who is, as always,
Never here to last.
I wrote the first 6 lines of during English class for an exercise with apostrophe. The rest I wrote later on.

Let me know what you think!
